Vaccine Makers Ask for Emergency Authorization of New Variant Vaccination for Children Age 5 or 6 to 11



Children ages 5 to 11 may soon be approved to receive the new bivalent COVID-19 booster by Pfizer and BioNTech if their application to the Food and Drug Administration September 26 is approved for emergency authorization. In addition, on September 23, Moderna asked the FDA to approve its own updated vaccine for children age 6 and older. Each company recommended a dosage of 10 micrograms.
