Mission Statement

To unite social workers for professional development and advocate for local service delivery and practice issues. As a local chapter, NASWVA Metro seeks to address major public policy issues as part of the National Association of Social Workers.

Vision

To exert professional influence that impacts individuals, groups, and communities to promote the integrity of the social work profession through mobilization, education, and advocacy.

The Chapter has also adopted the following goals:

  • Establishing and implementing programs and services which will effectively further the professional development, goals, and interests of a diverse membership.

  • Establish a comprehensive public relations plan to address chapter programs and activities and the public image of the profession and fund development.

  • Plan and implement recruitment activities aimed at recruiting students and a diversity of professional social workers.

  • Advocate for the interests of social work in an evolving service delivery system.
