NASWVA & DC Metro Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
The NASWVA/DC Metro Chapters offer special interest groups (SIGs) as one of the many benefits of NASW membership. If you are interested in participating in one or more of the SIGs offered by NASWVA/DC, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to ensure that you will be included in invitations and reminders.
Current Active SIGs:
The Early-Career Professionals Special Interest Group (SIG) aims to provide new social workers starting in the profession an opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expertise by providing a platform for networking with early-career professionals and other NASW chapter members in various practice settings. By joining as an Early-Career Professional, offered for two years following graduation, you have access to a unique set of resources designed to boost your confidence in your new career!
Disability Special Interest Group
The NASW-VA Disability Council was recently created to advance disability priorities within the social work profession and our communities.
The first meeting will be held virtually on October 18th at 6 pm. All Chapter members are welcome and encouraged to join. The goals of this group are to offer peer support, advocacy, resources and recommendations. Fill out the interest form to join the next meeting.
