Richmond Family Magazine Publishes NASWVA Article Busting Social Worker Myths

To celebrate National Mental Health Month, NASW Virginia Executive Director Debra Riggs wrote an article for Richmond Family Magazine that busts common myths about social workers and highlights how these practitioners help families in different situations and settings.

Fear, confusion, and lack of understanding about the roles of social workers often keep families and individuals from tapping into the latter's professional network and resources, extensive training, and ability to connect people to what they need and desire.

Special thanks to Donilee Goldsmith and Rebecca Ledingham for their interviews and insights for this article, which will remain on the magazine's popular website and is expected to be seen by tens of thousands of Richmond and Virginia readers.
