Every March the nation recognizes the tremendous value of its 782,000 social workers via Social Work Month. This year—under the theme “Empowering Social Workers!”—the celebration offers opportunities for every social worker to educate the public about the value and rapid growth of the profession, as well as the urgent need to increase social worker salaries.

“We invite all NASWVA members to spread the word by using NASW’s Social Work Month social media toolkit, downloading and using the customized Zoom background here and celebrating with hundreds of fellow social workers at our chapter’s Annual Conference March 21-23 in Norfolk!” says Executive Director Debra Riggs, CAE. “Social workers deserve to be honored and paid accordingly for their hard work and training, and Social Work Month is a powerful way to gain more public and policy maker support for social workers in every setting.”
