An expansion on the Me Too movement and a discussion of sexual assault, harassment, domestic abuse, and the intersection of these topics.
Coping with Loss: Working with Grief and Bereavement
a. Discuss how to use the grief work model to frame other losses outside of death and dying.
b. Examine this often under-discusses issue that will undoubtedly surface in every social work practice field.
c. Learn how to walk towards these challenging issues as opposed to avoiding them.
d. Discuss typical grief reactions, complicated grief, and the importance of support groups.
e. Learn mindfulness and grounding exercises.

b. Discuss what these issues and experiences actually are, how to identify them in your clients, and the impacts that they can
have on clients.
c. Learn an approach to domestic abuse and sexual harassment from a trauma-informed perspective:
i. Expand your knowledge base on specific how-to’s for trauma-informed practice, and clearly define what trauma and
trauma-informed really mean for us and our clients.
ii. This will be a safe place to identify gaps in knowledge about trauma-informed practice and increase our skill set for
working with this client population.
